Members of Brant Broughton and Stragglethorpe Parish Council are summoned to attend a Meeting on Thursday 3rd April 2025 at 6.45 pm

The meeting will be held in the Village/Jubilee Hall on West Street, Brant Broughton.

 

 

Public time (15 minutes) to include County and District Councillor reports.

  1. Apologies for absence.
  1. Declarations of interest.
  1. Resolution to approve the Minutes of the meeting held on 20th February 2025.
  1. Information boards – update by Councillors involved.
  1. Highways and footpaths – No accidents at A17 crossroads recorded so far.
  1. Trees – Quotes obtained for Essential and Desirable works to trees at Rectory Field and Village Green as a result of NKDC’s tree survey.  Resolution as to which works to have done and which contractor to use.   Planning will need to be advised as all trees are in the Conservation Area.
  1. VE Day – 8th May – discussions and resolution as to what the PC will do to commemorate the 80th VE Day.
  1. Village Hall -

resolution to cancel our insurance cover of the Village Hall building and request a copy of evidence of insurance annually from the VH.  As Custodian Trustees, insuring the VH is not our responsibility.

  1. Planning –

25/0018 – Change of use of land at Harts Close to equestrian + stables & menage – pending consideration.

25/0032 – tree works at 3 High Street – granted.

25/0049 – retrospective single storey outbuilding at 101 High Street – pending consideration.

25/0155 – retrospective erection of pergola at Generous Briton – pending consideration.

25/0208 – Tree works at 16 Maltkiln Lane – pending consideration.

  1. Leoda Solar Farm – response sent to Planning Inspectorate re the Scoping Report for an EIA.  Pre-consultation period has ended and Leoda are considering responses.
  1. Change of use of barns in Stragglethorpe – information from Chair. Resolution as to whether the PC should email NKDC with comments.  We are not a consultee which is why this hasn’t previously been brought to the attention of the PC. Application numbers 25/0149 and 25/0152.

 

  1. Litter picks - Pre-school will be doing the spring Pick and the Playing Field the Autumn one.
  1. Scheme of Delegation to Parish Clerk resolution to adopt the draft submitted prior to this meeting.
  1. Financial:
  1. Resolution to sign bank reconciliation as at 28.2.25.  Balance at 28.2.25 is £10,675.03.
  2. Resolution to pay NKDC £105.60 for survey of 32 trees.
  3. Clarify that the cost of £70 (Minute 24/72b) was to be split between the tree and decorations as to £20 and £50 respectively.
  4. Resolution (reaffirm) to agree the Chairman’s Allowance of £50 p.a. (Minute 24/83c).
  5. Resolution (reaffirm)  to agree survey of trees by NK (Minute 24/83d).
  1. May meetings – any special requirement for Annual Parish Meeting?
  1. Date of next meeting:  15th May 2025 (APM, AMPC and Regular meetings) –
